Explain the advantages of asexual reproduction over sexual reproduction for an organism living in a stable, unchanging environment.

Some organisms, such as certain species of aphid and sea anemone, can reproduce both sexually and asexually depending on environmental conditions. In stable, resource-rich environments, asexual reproduction is often the dominant strategy observed.

1. Asexual reproduction does not require a mate, so no energy is spent on searching for or attracting a partner.
2. Offspring are genetically identical to the parent, preserving well‑adapted genotypes intact.
3. Every individual can reproduce (no non‑reproductive males), so the population growth rate is higher.
