# Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by a bacterium. Describe the methods by which gonorrhoea can be prevented, and explain why each method is effective.

1. Use of condoms as a prevention method
2. Condoms prevent the transfer of infected bodily fluids / prevent direct contact with infected bodily fluids
3. Abstinence as a prevention method
4. Abstinence eliminates the risk of transmission because there is no sexual contact / no exchange of bodily fluids
