# Glucose produced during photosynthesis can be used by plants in a number of ways. Describe four different ways in which a plant can use the glucose produced during photosynthesis.

## Mark scheme (4 marks)

1. Glucose is used in respiration to release energy for the plant's metabolic processes.
2. Glucose is converted into starch for storage.
3. Glucose is used to make cellulose for cell walls.
4. Glucose is combined with nitrates (absorbed from the soil) to make amino acids / proteins.
