1. Hormones travel in the blood (bloodstream)
2. Blood transport is slower than electrical impulses along nerves
3. Hormones remain in the blood / body for a longer time (before being broken down)
4. Nerve responses are short-lived because impulses stop as soon as the stimulus is removed
