# Explain why a chloroplast and a cell wall are found in plant cells but not in animal cells, and explain how each structure is related to its function.

## Mark scheme (5 marks)

1. Chloroplasts are found in plant cells because plants photosynthesise / make their own food (animals do not photosynthesise)
2. Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll which absorbs light energy for photosynthesis
3. Cell wall is found in plant cells because it provides support / strength / prevents the cell from bursting
4. Cell wall is made of cellulose
5. Animal cells do not need a cell wall because they have a flexible cell membrane / animals have a skeleton for support instead
