## Mark scheme (5 marks)

1. Mitochondria are where aerobic respiration occurs / takes place
2. Aerobic respiration releases energy (for the cell)
3. More mitochondria means more respiration can occur / more energy can be released
4. A mitochondrion is too small to be seen clearly with a light microscope
5. An electron microscope would be needed to see a mitochondrion clearly
