## Mark scheme (4 marks)

1. The pancreas produces enzymes / pancreatic juice contains enzymes that are released into the small intestine
2. Protease enzymes break down proteins into amino acids
3. Lipase enzymes break down fats/lipids into fatty acids and glycerol
4. Carbohydrase/amylase enzymes break down starch/carbohydrates into simple sugars/glucose
