## Mark scheme (4 marks)

1. Energy enters the ecosystem via photosynthesis (in producers/grass)
2. Energy is passed to consumers when organisms are eaten
3. Not all energy is transferred to the next level — some is lost
4. The original source of all energy in the food chain is the Sun/sunlight
