# Explain how DNA is organised inside a human body cell and how it is used to produce proteins.

## Mark scheme (5 marks)

1. DNA is found in the nucleus (of a cell)
2. DNA is wound around proteins / coiled up to form chromosomes
3. A gene is a section / small part of DNA (that codes for a specific protein)
4. A gene contains a sequence of bases / the order of bases codes for the amino acid sequence
5. Amino acids are joined together in the correct order to make a specific protein
