# Explain how a converging lens forms a real image of a distant object.

> A converging lens is used in a camera to focus light from a distant scene onto a sensor.

## Mark scheme (4 marks)

1. Parallel rays of light from a distant object strike the converging lens
2. The converging lens refracts / bends the rays
3. The rays are brought together / converge at the focal point (principal focus)
4. The image formed is real because the rays actually meet / pass through the image point
