# Describe how the electromagnetic spectrum is arranged in terms of frequency and wavelength, and state one use for each of the following types of electromagnetic radiation: infrared and radio waves.

## Mark scheme (4 marks)

1. The electromagnetic spectrum ranges from highest frequency (gamma rays) to lowest frequency (radio waves), or equivalent correct ordering.
2. Wavelength increases from gamma rays to radio waves, or equivalent correct statement that radio waves have the longest wavelength.
3. Correct use stated for infrared radiation.
4. Correct use stated for radio waves.
