# Describe four features of protoctists.

> Protoctists are a diverse group of microscopic organisms. Examples include Amoeba, Chlorella and Plasmodium.

## Mark scheme (4 marks)

1. Protoctists are single-celled / unicellular organisms
2. Protoctists are microscopic
3. Protoctists have a nucleus / are eukaryotic cells
4. Some protoctists have chloroplasts and can photosynthesise (e.g. Chlorella) whilst others do not (e.g. Amoeba / Plasmodium) / they show animal-like or plant-like features
