1. Iron is needed to make haemoglobin / red blood cells
2. Lack of iron leads to anaemia / reduced oxygen transport around the body
3. Vitamin C is needed for healthy skin / gums / connective tissue / for making collagen
4. Lack of vitamin C leads to scurvy
