## Mark scheme (5 marks)

1. The wave produced is a transverse wave
2. Wavelength is the distance between two adjacent crests (or troughs), or the length of one complete wave cycle
3. Frequency is the number of complete waves (oscillations) passing a point per second
4. Correct statement of the wave equation: wave speed = frequency × wavelength
5. Correct calculation or statement that the frequency of the wave is 5 Hz (using 2.0 = f × 0.4)
