# A student states: 'Radio waves and gamma rays are both types of electromagnetic radiation, but they are very different from each other.' Explain two ways in which radio waves and gamma rays differ from each other within the electromagnetic spectrum.

## Mark scheme (4 marks)

1. Radio waves have a lower frequency than gamma rays
2. Radio waves have a longer wavelength than gamma rays (or gamma rays have a shorter/smaller wavelength)
3. Gamma rays carry more energy than radio waves
4. Despite these differences, both travel at the same speed in a vacuum / both travel at the speed of light
