# A person is standing in front of a plane mirror. Describe the characteristics of the optical image formed by the plane mirror.

## Mark scheme (4 marks)

1. The image is the same size as the object.
2. The image is the same distance behind the mirror as the object is in front of it.
3. The image is virtual / cannot be projected onto a screen.
4. The image is laterally inverted / left and right are reversed.
