Exam tip — how to tell them apart: Renewables are replenished but often less reliable; non-renewables are reliable but finite and (fossil fuels) polluting — trade-offs win marks.
Common trap: Nuclear is non-renewable (uranium is finite) even though it does not burn fossil fuels or release CO₂ in use.
